Learning Journals

How learning journals work
……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Learning Journals

Our Online ‘Learning Journals’ are a brilliant way of parents/carers to see a unique visual record of what their child has been busy doing at Liberty Kids!

You will receive a password login, that allows you to securely view your child’s private Learning Journals page.

Once you login you can view photographs of your child, alongside ‘observations’ that are linked to either the ‘Pre Birth to Three’ or the ‘Curriculum for Excellence’, depending upon your child’s age. Tracking your child’s experiences and outcomes whilst at nursery through ‘observation’s’ also shows your child’s next steps for further learning!

Learning Journals allow your child to ‘show you’ what they have been involved in and allows you to leave us feedback by commenting on individual observation. This ensures frequent communication between Key Carers and Parents/Carers. You can of course speak to the team at anytime!

Daily Diaries

As part of your child’s Learning Journal you will also find a ‘Daily Diary’.

This will show you activities your child has been taken part in for the day, what they have eaten and had to drink. For younger children it shows details on their sleeping pattern and all nappy changes.

The daily diary is for all babies in the Explorer room and for children who attend on a full time basis.

Parents/carers talk to their child’s key carer on a daily basis, and we welcome feedback and comment on daily activities!

Wow Moments at Home

Come on, let us know how amazing your child is!

Liberty Kids love to hear what your gorgeous child have been getting up to at home!

Learning Journal has a ‘Wow Moments’ section that allows you to share what exciting activities your little one has been up too.

Simply write and post a comment and add a photo!

Wow Moments can be about anything you feel proud of! It could be your little one has tried a new food, slept through the night, passed a swimming assessment or even taken their very first step!

It might even link to an activity at Liberty Kids, such as singing a rhyme or telling you about their day!

This is a super way of sharing your child’s home life with the team and nursery class.
